The power and the glory of the biblical politics

I have been watching The Wire all over again because after you watch We Own This City, the pull is strong. Last night’s episode had McNulty channel surfing and giving C-SPAN a try, for reasons of earlier dinner conversation, but he couldn't find the appeal and clicked back to a WW2 doco. Just like Tony Soprano with his plate of ice cream. Just like me so many times too.

Can we explain why?

Maybe it’s the reassurance of seeing good vanquishing evil; maybe it’s the pleasing experience of overcoming great adversity with your feet up on the sofa; maybe it’s something else.
