Our plan for this Sunday morning is to ride the ferry to Rangitoto, walk the side of the island we haven't yet seen, and enjoy a delicious cut lunch.
Walking is all the more fun when there’s the promise of food at your destination, leaving aside the fact that you have it sitting there, ready for you, on your back, the whole way there.
It may be some kind of Italian sandwich, cured meats and cheese and olive oil, wrapped in paper, tied up in string, pressed. Or maybe a chicken mayo roll sort of thing. Who can say, I'm writing this before they’re made. But both are firm favourites.
