For as long as I can remember, a typical hour of Auckland weather has comprised:
First ten minutes: clear blue sky, sun set to blowtorch
Second ten minutes: wind gets up, clouds roll in, your picnic turns cold and grey
Third ten minutes: sky now dark as coal as you grab glasses bottles and bacon and egg pie
Next minute: you all get drenched running for shelter
Sometime in the next 29 minutes: sun resumes its furnace glow upon sodden abandoned picnic rug, hummus, and kettle fries.
City of Sails sure, but also City of Showers. A pain, but also, if you're prepared to just wait ten minutes, no big deal.
