Half a world away, Freedom Day has dawned and there is nothing like a round of vox pops to affirm that getting a simple message conveyed and understood is harder than it looks.
Get as sniffy as you like about last year’s 1pm press conferences treating us like we’re in kindy, but what we’re hearing from the man, woman and Facebook reader on the High Street is: if you want to get a message conveyed about a pandemic, you do need to be very repetitive and take your time and keep labouring it or you're going to end up deep, deep in the weeds.
