Is it a surprise to learn that the government is happy to see some commercial fishing in a marine reserve?
It is not. This is, after all, a government that is happily giving more latitude to the tobacco industry, the gun lobby and ute drivers to put us all in greater mortal danger.
I'm making it sound as though they don't care. Actually, I donβt doubt them β well, with a few notable damnable contemptible exceptions β when they say they really do care about the safety of kiddies walking to school and the carbon weβre burning and the endangerment of fish species being at precarious levels. It's just that there's one special thing they care about above all others.
