End of year

Jeremy Clarkson has written a column in which he wildly unbridles his loathing for Meghan Markle, plumbing fresh depths in a ratings-winning formula of calculated outrage and demeaning humour.

No need for a link, the Sun has taken it down, but if you want to see it, the worst of the lines live on in other reportage. Suffice to say it’s ghastly.

What he’s done has got me thinking about the whole business of opinion writing; where you turn your gaze, how far you go, how much acid you pour into a sentence.
