The National mood is not brittle. That was last month. Current mood feels nearer febrile.
We took into this lockdown a confidence - borne from the first very comforting experience - that we knew how this goes: you shut the doors, and when you come back out everything will be whole and safe once more and we’ll pick up where we left off.
