I have now lived long enough to see a cabinet minister go both barrels on their Prime Minister and not get sacked.
It used to be that the PM would have a drawer full of resignations signed by ministers on the day of their appointment, ready for such an occasion. But this Prime Minister looks more like someone who would send you a gift basket.
It used to seem the cabinet ministers were highly capable and sophisticated operators but I've now lived long enough to grasp that many of them such as Seymour, such as Bishop, such as Brown, are really just well-tuned dweebs, skilled enough in their chosen discipline to flourish for a time but oh dear, just look at the two most recent polls.
