The bolognese has been dehydrated and so has the pineapple. Our packs are full and we are ready to go. Thanks to the highly effective layers of swiss cheese protecting our border, we are free to make for the mountains. Tomorrow morning and for the next few days, we will be boots-on in Tongariro.
Just to be absolutely sure, I rang the DOC centre in Whakapapa last week: would they be all good with Aucklanders bringing their Level 2 with them, if that was still the rule?
