Things I would not do if I were the Plunket Platform
1. I would not stoke a cynical where there’s smoke there’s fire innuendo campaign about Government jobs or contracts that may have been awarded to relatives of Nanaia Mahuta.
Their question has been put to her and she has answered it and that answer has been: The minister is aware of and follows all Cabinet protocols, and has done so in all matters raised here.
And she might well have added:
Of course conflict of interest issues may arise when your family is active in leadership and advancing the interests of Māori.
But she did not.
The Plunket Platform might well have replied,
Fair enough that's that's the end of it then.
But I wouldn't be holding my breath, and I’d be keeping my ears covered if I were at all sensitive to piercing dog whistle.
2. I would not be quite so eagerly slopping the mean-girl faux intellectualism of Ani O’Brien into the Plunket Platform trough. A little of her TERF work goes a long way.
Things I will not do when I write about them even though it would probably be helpful.
1. I will not post links to the stuff I’m talking about. They can get someone else to aerate their cynical verbal thuggery.
