It's raining in Cockermouth and we're following our host up the stairs. We’re telling her it’s a lovely building and she’s explaining that it used to be a pub and a nightclub and a backpackers, but no more.
There were floods in 2009 and 2015 along the main street, huge floods, fully drowning the buildings.
It nearly wiped them out, she says. Thirty years they’ve been there; they're still going. Their next step has been to remake it into apartments.
