Perhaps when the archaeologists come picking their way through the ruins of a civilisation that was so fond of its fossil fuel comforts it wasn't prepared to give up any of them, they will find these two artefacts.
Perhaps they will place these two times alongside one another in an exhibit illustrating how doggedly determined so many people were to deny reality and embrace the most swivel-eyed of disinformation and conspiracy theories, even a the very moment that reality was pummelling them against a goddamn wall.
And here's one more bit of reality that really bites.
