Bad as the unemployment figures are, shall we take a moment to consider how things would be looking if there hadn’t also been an exodus of people out of here?
Granted, some part of it is just the pattern of life. Our daughter and the rest of her twenties cohort were going anyway. The bigger question is: how strong will the pull be to come back?
She's been in London for a couple of years now and her employers will be sponsoring her to stay on. Can't think of a better place for her to be at the moment. If she does make her way back here, we'll be recommending Melbourne.
